Databases in ECB
In this section you will find a list of databases which are
available in the Energy Centre Bratislava (ECB) office. Some
of them are available only on a commercial basis and others
can be accessed free of charge. The information contained in
the databases is protected by international copyright rules.
Database of journalists
Most of the contacts in this database are journalists who
write about technology, economy and energy development in
Slovakia.
Database of key players in the Slovak
energy sector
The ECB has been working in the Slovak Energy Sector for more
than five years. During this time, ECB has organised a variety
of seminars and workshops and participated in many energy
events and projects. Therefore, the ECB has many contacts
and partners who are influential in the Slovak energy sector.
Database of bakeries
Within the project "Increasing Energy Efficiency in the
Slovak Bakery Sector.", the ECB carried out dissemination
activities focused on small bakery owners and energy managers
in industrial bakeries. On the basis of this, ECB developed
a database of Slovak bakeries and potential plants for implementation
of energy efficient measures.
Database of Slovak CTI conference

In July 1999, the ECB organized a high level conference in
co-operation with the UN's Climate Technology Initiative.
The main topic of this conference was the dissemination of
technologies and experiences for preventing climate change.
The contact information of people from around the world who
are active in this initiative are available in this database.

The EU continues to invest significant amounts in the development
of international co-operation on the field of energy consumption,
improving energy efficiency and transfer of technology and
information. All this is covered by programs of the EU aimed
at energy sector which are possible to find in this database.
Database of forestry and wood processing
industries
In this database is possible to find contact information to
subjects in the forestry and wood processing industries, which
are the main producers of wood waste for energy utilisation.

Database of hotels in Slovakia
This database was created whithin "Worthiness of cogeneration
implementation in hotel sector study". Besides other
information - consultanting activities in the field of rational
energy exploitation and renewable sources, energy efficiency
studies in various sectors also belong to ECB's work plan.
Constructive suggestions for its increasing together with
looking for projects realization financing options make parts
of ECB's activities, too.

In this database, it is possible to find links to programmes
and funds which offer support to projects in the field of
alternative energy sources, environment, rational energy exploitation
as well as multimedial financing sources.

Práve Slovensko, ktoré je viac ako z 90% závislé na dovoze
primárnych zdrojov, by malo mať prvoradý záujem na využití
vlastných, najmä obnoviteľných zdrojov energie. Jednou z aktivít
zameraných na dosiahnutie týchto cieľov a predovšetkým na
vytvorenie trhu s biomasou na Slovensku bola organizácia medzinárodnej
konferencie INTERNATIONAL SLOVAK BIOMASS FORUM 2001, ktorá
sa uskutočnila v dňoch 19. - 20. februára 2001 v Bratislave.
